Thank You, Charles Schwab Reality Store, for an Incredible Career and Financial Literacy Workshop

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Charles Schwab Reality Store for hosting an engaging and eye-opening Career and Financial Literacy Workshop for our students. This unique experience gave our students an invaluable glimpse into the world of adult financial decisions, bridging the gap between academics and real-world applications.

During the workshop, students were given a chosen career path and challenged to make futuristic financial decisions across various life scenarios. This hands-on activity not only introduced them to the concept of budgeting but also brought the challenges of adult life into perspective. They navigated scenarios such as managing expenses, prioritizing needs over wants, and balancing income with lifestyle choices, gaining insights into the complexities of financial responsibility.

The enthusiasm in the room was contagious! Many students were curious but excited to take on their “adult” roles for the day. As they worked through each decision, they expressed how interesting and challenging it was to make these choices. By the end of the workshop, they were not only more informed about financial planning but also shared some candid reflections, with one of the most common being, “Adulting is hard!”

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with students already asking when the next session will be. We’re thrilled to announce that we will continue to offer workshops like this in the spring semester, as we believe these experiences are essential for equipping our students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their futures.

Thank you once again to the Charles Schwab Reality Store for their dedication to empowering the next generation through career and financial literacy. We look forward to building on this momentum and providing our students with even more opportunities to learn and grow.
