About Last Night: Kenmore's First Friday

Each month, Kenmore Neighborhood Alliance host an event called First Friday. This event is from 6 PM to 9 PM on the First Friday of the month. Vendors, both for profit and nonprofit, setup booths and provide entertainment for the youth based on that month's theme. Vendors are able to sell their goods and promote their business, or educate the community on services offered.

Last night, SWAG participated in First Friday for the first time, and it did not disappoint. We were able to establish relationships with many of the vendors, and am excited to work with them in the near future. Some of those that we were fortunate to meet was the owner from Just a Dad From Akron, and the principal of the Brilliance School (I can't wait for you all to see what things will come from those relationships). Joe Tucker, SWAG Board Chair, was there representing South Street Ministries, allowing participants

to sign-out bikes for usage during the event.

The next First Friday is August 6th, and this time the theme will be Spiderman (or superheroes). SWAG will once again have a table setup. We are actively recruiting students for our Fall program. Come out, get registered with SWAG, and enjoy what the other amazing vendors have to offer!
